The main focus is on each specific group and their experience in the Mentawais. With ultimate guest satisfaction in mind, small groups are made daily based on the wishes of the surfers. The mission is always to find the waves that suit you!

The Villas

You will be living in a wooden bungalow in the jungle next to the beach.

Alaia's villas are spacious, comfortable and offer beachfront views, with big space bathrooms and extra loft room on top of the bungalows.

​Every room is equipped with air conditioning, hot water shower, TV, extra fans, beach/ocean view, direct access to the beach, safe box, western toilet, daily housekeeping.

The Lounge & Dining building is all about relaxation. Alaia Mentawai has only one goal: total comfort and ease for guests.

On the island, there are no roads, shops, or even villages. Around you? A coconut jungle with jungle natives.

    A fun left thats a mix between hideaways and bengbeng, with a south swell and high tide Alaia's is a rippable and fun wave for all board types, breaks over a flat although shallow reef and is viewable from your bungalows front deck, from the restaurant and is directly infront of our pool.

  • Fun for Everyone

    Aframes is one of the most underrated waves in the region, offering 2 different sections on the left and a fun right on the outside peak, something for everyone! Aframes breaks over one of the most beautiful vibrant reefs in the area, right next to an idyllic tropical island.

  • The Heavy Hitter

    BANKVAULTS

    Bankvaults is a swell magnet and the bigger the better. Although intimadating and challenging, Bankvaults can reward you with some of the biggest, roundest barrels of your life. Also worth checking on smaller days as it can still be amazing. On the big days watch out for the wide swingers!

  • All About Fun

    BENGBENG

    BengBeng equals fun and is one of the closest waves to the resort. Easy, safe and rippable. A favourite of all visitors to the area. Easy to check from the resort with a pair of binoculars and possible to walk to, along a beautiful deserted stretch of beach from the resort.

    Burgerworld offers an amazing surf experience, a long pointbreak style wave at the edge of the jungle, it offers everything from barrel sections to rippable walls. One of the funnest and most picturesque waves breaking over a mellow reef that can be enjoyed by any boardrider.

    Ebay offers amazing Green Barrels. It can be challenging and intimadating with a shallow end section but is one of the premier lefts in the region. Easy to see if it is breaking from our restaurant with a pair of binoculars.

  • Endless Fun

    Fourbobs is a short super fun wave breaking over a shallow reef. One of the most mellow and easy waves in the region. As the wave offers up the same section over and over its the perfect wave to improve your surfing. Also on high tides has a perfect learners wave on the inside.

    Hideaways is a perfect wave in every way. It is a wave with excellent barrels, good for turns, surfable from waist high to double overhead plus+, breaking in crystal clear water over a shallow colorful reef.

    Nipussy is one of the most consistant rights in the area. It is a high performance wave offering a bit of everything and is one of the more forgivable waves breaking in a little deeper water.
